About the Arboretum

St. Timothy's School Arboretum is a sanctuary for education, engagement and contemplation for students, faculty, staff and alumni to promote holistic relationships between people, plants and place.

Set among 145 rolling acres of equine pastures, conservation forest, athletic facilities and remarkable architecture, nearly 450 trees make up the campus arboretum. Many of the finest specimen are nearly 100 years old. Numerous species and cultivars of Beech, Cherry, Magnolia, Maple and Oak are represented here among other native and non- native trees.




Arboretum Guest Etiquette
  • Please respect private property
  • Use designated walking paths
  • Only the Alice Ingram Hooker '51 Athletic Center is open for restroom use
  • Please stay off fences and don't feed the horses
  • Please don’t disturb wildlife
  • No pets please
  • Smoking is prohibited
  • Food and beverage waste must be carried out
  • Public consumption of alcohol is prohibited
  • Commercial, professional, and drone photography is not allowed
  • Use of sports fields is not permitted
  • Artists, please don’t block walkways
  • Please don’t climb on structures
  • Plant collecting is prohibited
  • No refunds are given for the Saturday, June 14, 2025 Arboretum Day event
  • Guests must comply with all policies and signage
  • Any guest who violates this code of conduct may be removed from the campus
  • Attendees are participating at their own risk, the School is not liable for any injuries or damages
